Engineers Construction, Inc. (ECI) is a full service general contracting firm established in 1965. We are based in Williston, Vermont. We specialize in underground utilities, sitework, railroad construction, cellular sites, waterfront structures, shore protection, and paving. Since inception, we have completed over 10,000 projects. Our service range is typically throughout New England and northern New York. Occasionally, we venture even further depending on the type of work and the client.

 

ECI currently has about 140 combined seasonal and full-time employees, including two registered professional engineers and several graduate engineers. Several of our foremen and operators have over 40 years of experience in construction.

ECI considers worker safety to be a priority. This commitment is enforced by our full-time safety director and an emphasis on safety from the management. In addition, several of our foremen, operators, laborers, and engineers are Hazmat trained (29 CFR 1910.120) and/or OSHA 10 hour trained. About 25 of our employees attend a yearly railroad safety course.

ECI has over 300 registered vehicles and pieces of equipment in the fleet. Several pieces of major equipment are very unique, including the directional drills, excavators with special attachments, trenchers, HDPE pipe fusion machines, and rail plows. We also have a full range of earthwork, paving, and trucking equipment.

Many of our projects require innovation to complete on budget and on schedule. Our staff of mechanics are frequently developing specialized components for our equipment. One example of our innovation is a rail plow that was developed to plow conduit from Burlington to White River Junction, Vermont along the New England Central Railroad.

ECI Directional Drilling, Inc. - ECI has a wide range of directional drilling and auger boring capabilities.

A.C. Paving, our other sister company, was established in 1973 for the purpose of providing a broader range of services and to respond quickly to ECI's paving needs. Since inception, A.C. Paving has completed over 5,000 projects.

ECI Rail Constructors, Inc. - ECI has a variety of specialty railroad equipment and experienced staff to handle a wide range of railroad construction services.
