ECI has completed numerous substation project for all of the major utility companies in Vermont, range in in size from under $100,000 to over $7,000,000. These sitework projects typically involve earthwork, concrete foundation, transformer containment systems, conduit, cable trench, fencing, grounds, and control house buildings.
ECI is specially equipped to work on these projects. Besides the typical loaders, dozers, trucks, and excavators used on a sitework project, substation frequently require FR Clothing (fire retardant) for all personnel, and mid-sized and mini excavators with wrists, and mini skid steers with specialty attachments.
Another concern on substation is the necessary precise tolerances and special detail for the foundations. This requires tedious attention to the concrete mix design, concrete placement, layout, and setting of anchor bolts.
