Safety Focus of the Week: Tagging Out-of-Service Defective and Damaged Tooling
Many of our tools are worked hard in harsh environments. Dust, metal shavings, sand, concrete, grout, and other abrasives wear tools down. Hard drilling, driving, and hammering takes its toll. Tools might run many hours under hot conditions in wet or dusty environments. It is no surprise that our tools need occasional service or break down and require repairs.
So remember to tag the damaged tool out-of-service and return it for repairs:
- Nobody should get hurt on a broken tool.
- No time should be wasted because we forgot to get the tool serviced after its last use.
