Safety Focus of the Week: Propane Safety (Revisited)
Propane is one of our common fuel sources, particularly at this time of year. Several safety considerations should be addressed when using, storing, and transporting propane.
Usage:
- Min 6 ft from a portable heater
- On Flat ground and secured
- Provide near-by fire extinguisher
- Monitor air for carbon monoxide
Storage Rules:
- Do not store with flammable liquids or flammable compressed gas
- Area must be secure
- Proper signage should be displayed
- Near-by fire extinguisher
Transport:
- Inspect the tank: valve closed, no damage
- Secure
- Upright position
