Alan Pidgeon – Company Founder
Alan was the founder of Engineers Construction, back in 1965 and remained active in the company until health conditions slowed him down in 2018. Alan passed away on June 14, 2020.

Alan, along with his son Ken, hold US Patent #6,193,440 for a Rail Plow, which they developed for installing conduit and fiber optic cable on the railroad.
Experience:
Alan had over 50 years of construction and engineering experience in nearly every type of project. His favorite projects involve plowing conduit/cable, power and electric duct banks, and waterfront structures.
General Background:
Alan’s career in construction started as an engineer for the Vermont Agency of Transportation in 1957. In 1964, he left to form Engineers Inc. of Vermont, a civil design consulting firm. In 1965, Alan expanded the engineering firm into construction with the formation of Engineers Construction, Inc. (ECI). Both firms continued to operate as sister companies until 1984 when design firm was bought out by the chief engineer. Alan served as president of ECI until his sons took over in May 2004.
