Ronald A. Johnston
Concrete Market Manager
Ron joined Engineers Construction, Inc. (ECI) in 2009 and currently serves as the Concrete Market Manager. Ron serves on the ECI Charitable Giving Committee and is a member of the ECI Senior Leadership Executive Group.
Ron began his career in 1985 at J&L Concrete, LLC where he served for over 27 years with positions advancing from laborer, residential foreman, commercial foreman, and assistant division manager. From the ground up, Ron learned the concrete trade installing foundations for residential and commercial buildings, slabs, and retaining walls.
Ron joined ECI in 2009 as a Project Manager and evolved into the Concrete Market Manager. When Ron joined the team, the concrete group included 8 employees. Ron has increased the concrete market group size to over 30 employees and has increased ECI’s concrete market share substantially. Under Ron’s leadership, ECI can install commercial and residential foundations, slabs, retaining walls, large tanks, bridge slabs, bridge approaches, bridge piers, and decorative concrete infrastructures.
Ron’s role as Concrete Market Manager at ECI includes providing complete oversight to the Market Group. Responsibilities include preparation of estimates and bids, setting expectations for the Field Operations Manager, Superintendents and Foreman, assigning supervisory teams on all new projects, perform all preconstruction administration and material procurement, maintain metrics on all active projects, recruit new staff, and conduct employee performance reviews. Ron balances all the concrete needs of ECI projects while also providing these services to our clients.
Ron is married and has 5 children, 12 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Ron enjoys golfing, hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and cruising in his Corvette. When the weather is nice, he and his wife also enjoy finding new trails to hike.
