City of Burlington Municipal Paving Contract

ECI has been awarded the municipal paving project for the city of Burlington multiple times, most recently in 2023 and 2024.  

We are uniquely qualified to perform this work thanks to our skilled workers and specialized paving equipment.  Municipal paving is different from other paving projects because of the traffic control, managing of pedestrian traffic, coordination with businesses and residents, street parking, restricted access to narrow streets, overhead utilities that restrict direct dumping into the paver, significant quantities of in-road structures, and careful planning to best fit the new pavement surface to existing curbing, driveways, etc.

In 2024 we coordinated with the City of Burlington to complete all the paving needs they had within the allotted contract window. Our crew cold planed approximately 40,000 sy of existing surfaces and then paved various streets using approximately 4,000 tons of asphalt. They also constructed new concrete handicap ramps, raised manholes and catch basins, and line striped throughout the city. We subcontracted the line striping and flagging and performed all other scopes or work in house.
