RELATED PROJECTS
Renewable Energy Project – Rock of Ages 100kW Wind Turbine
ECI was the general contractor on this 100 kW Northern Power Systems turbine installed at the summit of Millstone Hill in Graniteville, Vermont. The project is the showcase turbine for Northern Power Systems of Barre, Vermont, the manufacturer of the turbine.
Burlington Tunnel Emergency Repairs - 2008
ECI was engaged by the NECR to perform emergency stabilization of the Burlington Tunnel (located under North Avenue in Burlington, VT). A sudden loss of structural integrity of the tunnel floor caused significant ground movements and longitudinal cracking at the spring-line of the 150-year-old brick lined tunnel. The railroad immediately stabilized the tunnel by flooding the unstable areas concrete. ECI was called in to design/build a permanent repair.
VELCO & GMP Lime Kiln Substations - 2010
The project was part of the Gorge Area Reinforcement (GAR) which will increase the power reliability to northern Chittenden County. Power reliability is essential to economic vitality of the region. ECI was the civil contractor for these two substations which included extensive earthwork and rock excavation, a pair of large retaining walls, over 250 individual foundations, miles of conduit and copper grounding.
