ECI's Trenchless technology project

ECI is an industry expert in challenging trenchless utility installations throughout the Northeast. Our capabilities include horizontal direction drilling (directional boring), pipe ramming, pipe jacking, tunnel boring, pipe bursting, and slip lining. We have experience advancing projects through clays, granular soils, glacial till, and various types of rock. Additionally, we have experience with design-build contracts and have 7 registered Professional Engineers on staff. Whether you are looking to install new utilities or rehabilitate existing utilities we are dedicated to finding the right solution for your needs no matter the scale.

RELATED PROJECTS

New Haven – Ferrisburg Trenchless Culvert Project

ECI was the prime contractor to the Vermont Agency of Transportation for the replacement of two existing 50-ft-long culverts and install one new 100-ft-long culvert under the Vermont Railway with active railroad traffic.

AllSun Solar Tracker Installations - 2010

ECI has been working with All Earth Renewables of Williston, Vermont to install their All Sun solar trackers since July 2010.  These solar panel systems track the sun and align themselves to optimize the harvesting of solar energy.  

Whipline Gas Bore

ECI installed a 1,200-ft-long steel 12-in-dia coated gas line by directional drilling under the Westfield River in Westfield, MA.  The pipeline was installed from an abandoned 60-ft-high railroad embankment.  

VTrans Intelligent Information System (ITS)

This project consisted of a communications line upgrade to allow for relocation of some of the state’s computer network system that was vulnerable to flooding conditions along the Winooski River in Montpelier, Vermont. The project was highly visible on the main through street of Vermont’s capital city.
