Whipline Gas Bore

ECI installed a 1,200-ft-long steel 12-in-dia coated gas line by directional drilling under the Westfield River in Westfield, MA.  The pipeline was installed from an abandoned 60-ft-high railroad embankment.  The ground conditions varied from the relatively loose granular embankment fills to the alluvial soils and bedrock below the river bottom.  ECI utilized both its Jet Trac 100 and 7020 on both ends of the bore to allow tailpipe installation.  ECI also used its wireline location system and its 400 gpm reclaimer.
