VELCO 115kV Underground Electric Transmission Line

ECI was the civil contractor for the underground transmission lines in the residential communities of Charlotte, Shelburne, and South Burlington, Vermont.


Scope of Work:

  • Erosion Control for 11,500 ft-long project

  • Temporary Access Roads

  • 14,000 CY Trench Excavation

  • 10,000 CY Rock Excavation

  • 11,500 LF of Concrete Encased Duct Bank:  Six 6-in-dia PVC, four 2-in-dia HDPE, and one 4-in-dia HDPE

  • Over 3,000 CY of Concrete Encasement;  400 LF shielded with steel plate

  • One Railroad Track Crossing (Open Cut, Cased/Grouted) and Multiple Road Crossings

  • One Major Stream Crossing with Cofferdams

  • 36-in-dia x 350-ft-long Directional Bore

  • 24-in-dia x 350-ft-long Directional Bore

  • Provide and Pull Fiber Optic Cable
